WATCH: Dem Lawmaker Threatens Trump Team With Jail Time If They Don’t Honor Subpoenas

In an appearance on CNN with Wolf Blitzer, Democrat Congressman Gerry Connolly of Virginia threatened members of the Trump team with jail time if they don’t comply with the recent subpoenas.

This is an assault on the legislative branch and it’s an assault on the Constitution,” the radical congressman said while referring to Trump officials.

“We’re going to resist. If the subpoena is issued and you’re told you must testify, we will back that up — whether that’s contempt citation, whether that’s going to court, whether it’s fines, whether it’s possible incarceration — we will go to the max to enforce the Constitutional role of the legislative branch of the government,” he continued.

he Democrat Chairman of the House Oversight Committee accused President Trump and AG Barr of ‘massive obstruction’ on Wednesday for ordering federal employees to ignore congressional subpoenas.

Reuters reported that the Justice Department on Wednesday refused to allow John Gore, a deputy assistant attorney general in the Civil Rights Division to provide a deposition scheduled for Thursday if the committee would not allow a DOJ lawyer by his side.

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler on Monday subpoenaed former White House counsel Don McGahn to publicly testify next month.

On Tuesday it was reported the White House was planning on fighting the House subpoena of former White House counsel Don McGahn and other aides by asserting executive privilege over their testimony.

Last Wednesday, President Trump slammed the Democrats, saying how ridiculous the subpoenas were.

“The subpoenas are ridiculous. I have been the most transparent president and administration in the history of our country by far,” Trump said while declaring, “We’re fighting all the subpoenas.”

Last week President Trump and his legal team filed a lawsuit in Washington DC against House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings and chief investigative counsel Peter Kenny.

The President’s legal team attacked the subpoena calling it a “weapon” for a “political war.”

“We will not allow Congressional Presidential harassment to go unanswered,” Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow stated when talking about the lawsuit.

Back in early February, President Trump hammered radical Democrat Adam Schiff on the subject.

“So now Congressman Adam Schiff announces, after having found zero Russian Collusion, that he is going to be looking at every aspect of my life, both financial and personal, even though there is no reason to be doing so. Never happened before! Unlimited Presidential Harassment….” The President said in a tweet.

The Democrats have made it clear that they will abuse their power and investigate the President for any reason possible.

Now that the Mueller investigation is over which proved that the Trump campaign did not collude with the Russian government, congressional Democrats are taking matters into their own hands and starting new investigations for no reason except to impeach President Trump.
