What is going on with Fox News these days? Are they really going to start leaning more towards the left in an attempt to be more politically-correct?
One could make that assumption, based on the weird behavior of Fox News host Chris Wallace after his embarrassing behavior after being slandered by 2020 Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg during a televised Town Hall.
Americans were understandably outraged at Wallace appeared to do nothing after Buttigieg unleashed his hate speech towards Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Fox News in general.
ILMF previously reported on the insulting remarks:
You know, a lot of folks in my Party were critical of me for even going this with Fox News,” Buttigieg started. “And I get that, especially when you see what’s going on with some of the opinion hoists on this network. I mean, you got Tucker Carlson saying immigrants make America dirty; when you’ve got Laura Ingraham comparing detention centers with children in cages to summer camps.”
He then went on to directly hammer Fox News. “There is a reason why anybody has to swallow hard or think twice before participating in this media ecosystem.”
Instead of defending his coworkers and news station, Wallace cowered and said nothing except, “All right mayor, we got to take a break here.”
What a coward!
So why would Chris Wallace say nothing? It would make sense that there was no love lost between him and co-worker Laura Ingraham after their dispute about the coverage of the Robert Mueller’s letter to Attorney General William Barr. But that doesn’t explain why he would allow the bashing towards Fox News itself.
Is Fox News now ashamed to be Right Wing?
It looks as though someone else has taken notice of the “strange” behavior at Fox News, and why they continue to move away from their Conservative roots towards more Leftist-leaning ground.
That person is someone who is not afraid to call things like they are.
That person is President Donald Trump.
As reported by The Daily Beast:
It appears that President Trump is not going to let go of Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s Fox News town hall anytime soon.
After lashing out on Twitter that the right-leaning network is covering Democrats too much by hosting the Democratic presidential candidate (while also taking swipes at Fox News anchor Chris Wallace), the president took time out during his Monday night campaign rally in Pennsylvania to air more grievances.
And why shouldn’t the president take notice? Is it really that hard to see that things are changing at Fox News?
Trump seemed to be Judge Jeanine’s lifeline after her hijab comments towards Rep. Ilhan Omar got her sidelined. If Trump had not jumped in with his support, she may have been ousted.
Even Vanity Fair noted that CEO Lachlan Murdock is most likely looking to move the network away from it’s previously Pro-Trump ways:
Though Lachlan hired West Wing stalwart Hope Hicks, staffers believe he is likely to nudge the network away from its close marriage to Trump. Sources close to Lachlan pointed out that Lachlan is a libertarian conservative, not a MAGA die hard, who in private has expressed annoyance at Trump. “He doesn’t like Trump,” one person who has spoken with Lachlan told me. “There’s a lot of talk of the direction of the network changing under Lachlan,” the senior Fox staffer told me.
One thing is for sure, the President is absolutely correct in saying that “something strange” is going on. Something very strange indeed.
