Supreme Court Delivers Big Win To Trump On Border Wall Funding

An already terrible week for the anti-Trump resistance just got worse following a Supreme Court smackdown of the activist California judge who blocked the use of Pentagon funds to build the border wall.

With an intervention that struck with the force of a lightning bolt from the heavens, the justices ruled 5-4 to block the action of an Obama loyalist to thwart the administration’s efforts to deal with the growing humanitarian crisis at the border.

The judge – a political hack named Haywood Gilliam – had blocked the use of $2.5 billion for portions of the wall in multiple states including California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas which pretty much covers the entirety of states that comprise the nation’s southern land border.

But he was overruled on Friday with the rebuke from the nation’s highest court.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday handed President Donald Trump a victory by letting his administration redirect $2.5 billion in money approved by Congress for the Pentagon to help build his promised wall along the U.S.-Mexico border even though lawmakers refused to provide funding.

The conservative-majority court on a 5-4 vote with the court’s liberals in dissent blocked in full a ruling by a federal judge in California barring the Republican president from spending the money on the basis that Congress did not specifically authorize the funds to be spent on the wall project fiercely opposed by Democrats and Mexico’s government.

“Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall. The United States Supreme Court overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to proceed. Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!” Trump tweeted just minutes after the court acted.

A brief order explaining the court’s decision said the government “made a sufficient showing” that the groups challenging the decision did not have grounds to bring a lawsuit.

“Today’s decision to permit the diversion of military funds for border wall construction will wall off and destroy communities, public lands, and waters in California, New Mexico, and Arizona,” said Gloria Smith, an attorney with environmental group the Sierra Club, which sued to block the funds.

The redirection of the $2.5 billion was due to the president’s declaration of the border crisis to be a national emergency due to the refusal of Democrats to do their jobs instead of stomping around throwing a nearly three-year tantrum over an election that didn’t go the way that they wanted it to.

A jubilant Trump took to Twitter to hail the ruling:

It was a huge kick in the teeth for Democrats who were slinking out of town for the latest extended taxpayer-funded congressional vacation. It came only two days after the left’s great hope Robert Mueller went from a demigod to a senile, babbling old fool on national television.

It was a severe blow to impeachment but that isn’t going to stop Democrats who are now caterwauling over the Supreme Court’s rubbing of salt into their raw wounds.

Democrats were apoplectic as they wailed in outrage against the SCOTUS and Chuck and Nancy led the way.

The slim 5-4 margin should be a reminder to conservatives of how important that it is to show up at the polls in overwhelming numbers next November because with a failed Congress, all that stands between the USA and socialism is the Supreme Court.
