House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer spent some time in a public meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, who was quiet as a plant.

The group talked about border security and the tension levels became fairly high, with both Schumer and Pelosi asking to talk in private, to avoid being transparent. Their goal was to avoid a government shutdown and hopefully agree on border security, but they came up fairly empty. When the chat was over, there was a press conference with Pelosi and she accidentally said the word many leftists despise, which was “Christmas,” then she corrected herself and changed her word to “holiday” in hopes to appeal to the politically correct crowd.

Unfortunately, the president chooses to shut down the government… We have a ‘Trump Shutdown’ as a Christmas present — a holiday present — to the American people,” Pelosi said.

A small crowd of people in America have decided that the word “Christmas” is among the many politically incorrect words to say. It’s in the same line of offensive terms and right up there with the song “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” being banned for it’s content, even though songs by Cardi B. talk about sexual context and are played on the way to elementary school in mom’s Dodge Caravan.

President Donald Trump has spoken out about the issue with the “Christmas” word and he has no interest in appealing to Democrats who want to say “holiday” instead. At one point during Trump’s campaign trail on the way to defeating Hillary Clinton in 2016’s election, he stated, “We’re going to say ‘Merry Christmas’ again,” and he does.

Trump had originally signed a short term spending bill that would keep government open, but it ends soon. Trump stated that he will shut down the government if he does not receive enough funding for border security.

POLL: Should Trump end birthright citizenship?

Trump is blaming Democrats for not allowing the spending budget to account for enough funding to build a secure border wall that will limit illegal immigration.

Democrats such as Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are against Trump’s wall, even though information shows that locations with strong border security such as walls have a much lower number of illegal immigrants breaking into the country.

n fact, it was Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama who supported building barriers/fences along the border well before Trump came along. According to an article in USA Today, their system has helped places previously riddled with drug imports and crime to become safer thanks to the barrier.

The article specifically talks about the location at Yuma, Arizona.

“The bipartisan Secure Fence Act of 2006 — supported by then-Sens. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden and others — mandated the construction of hundreds of additional miles of secure fencing and infrastructure investments. Yuma sector was one of the first areas to receive infrastructure investments.

Although there is still work to do, the border in Yuma sector today is more secure because of this investment. Even under lax enforcement standards, apprehensions in fiscal year 2016 were roughly a 10th of what they were in FY 2005 — and are on track to be even lower this year.

VOTE NOW: Should Trump close down the Southern Border?

Crime has significantly decreased in the Yuma area, and smugglers now look for other less difficult areas of the border to cross — often areas without fencing.

Undoubtedly, Yuma today is safer because of our investments. But a secure border involves more than just investments in infrastructure. It requires a comprehensive enforcement effort in the interior to secure our homeland and advance the national interest.”

Nancy Pelosi might be politically correct, but doesn’t she want to be safe as well?

Securing the border is a major issue that can help prevent crime.

If it was fine for Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama to build the fences, then why can’t President Trump take it up a notch and build a wall?
