President Donald Trump has given U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement the green light and a start date to begin deporting thousands of illegal aliens in 4 major cities.
According to reports from both The New York Times and NBC News, ICE will launch raids on Sunday in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Miami.
Other areas will be part of the raids, but those 4 cities are reportedly the main focus when the raids begin on Sunday.
ICE will be apprehending and deporting roughly 2,000 illegal immigrants who have ignored court orders to leave the country.
Here’s more from NBC News:
The mass raids, to be conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, are set to target roughly 2,000 families in major cities across the United States — the same 10 cities that were revealed under the previous plans, the officials said. The previously named cities were: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York and San Francisco, but a source said that two of those cities may change.
In June, the president announced plans to deport “millions” of illegal immigrants, but later postponed those plans so that he could perhaps strike a deal with Democrats.
Trump originally told ICE to begin a nationwide sweep to apprehend up to a million illegal aliens from the country who have been ordered by a court to be deported, but delayed it two weeks so he could “work out a deal” with Pelosi and Democrats.
In response, Pelosi sarcastically said that “families belong together,” which is a shot at Trump for temporarily using the Obama-era policy of child separations at the border.
She also called for “comprehensive immigration reform,” which is liberal-code for amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.
“Mr. President, delay is welcome. Time is needed for comprehensive immigration reform. Families belong together,” Pelosi wrote in her response to Trump.

After several weeks of inaction from Democrats, Trump is moving forward and has instructed ICE to begin the raids.
Last week, Trump told reporters: “These are people where we have their papers, we’ve gone through the court system. [The deportations will] be starting fairly soon, but I don’t call them raids.”
He added: “We’re removing people that have come — all of these people over the years — that have come in illegally. We are removing them and bringing them back into their country.”
Ken Cuccinelli, the newly-appointed acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, also said that ICE agents were ready to apprehend and deport aliens who are ignoring court orders.
“They’re ready to just perform their mission, which is to go and find and detain and then deport the approximately one million people who have final removal orders,” Cuccinelli said during a CBS interview Sunday.
Democrats can complain all they want — the ICE raids are coming.
