House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer approved funded for a wall — but not on the southern border.
As noted by The Washington Times, Democrats voted in favor of fully funding a 287-mile border wall in Jordan last year
In recent weeks, Pelosi has argued that walls are “immoral” and Schumer called Trump’s stand against open borders a “manufactured crisis.”
Less than a year ago, both top Democrats approved funding on a 287-mile wall in Jordan, but now refuse to do so in the U.S. to protect Americans.
Here’s what Breitbart’s Neil Munro reported in March 2018:
“The 2018 omnibus spending bill provides just enough funds to build 33 miles of fencing on the Texas border — but it also provides $500 million to help Jordan build a wall and defense line against jihad terrorists trying to cross its 287-mile border with Iraq and Syria.”
“The omnibus budget says on page 394: SEC. 9011. Up to $500,000,000 of funds appropriated by this Act for the Defense Security Cooperation Agency in ”Operation and Maintenance, Defense-Wide’ may be used to provide assistance to the Government of Jordan to support the armed forces of Jordan and to enhance security along its borders.”
Amazing to see Democrats fully fund a wall in Jordan just 10 months ago, but now refuse to offer even a dollar for a wall along the border between the U.S. and Mexico.
Pelosi and Schumer being total hypocrites comes after President Donald Trump delivered a powerful address to the nation from the Oval Office last Tuesday, where he urged Democrats to strike a deal to fund the border wall and reopen the federal government.
“Every day, Customs and Border Patrol agents encounter thousands of illegal immigrants trying to enter our country,” Trump said, noting that Customs and Border Patrol apprehended roughly 50,000 people in 2018 trying to cross the border illegally.

Trump also slammed Schumer and other Democrats for previously supporting border barriers, yet they don’t know all of a sudden.
“Senator Chuck Schumer, who you will be hearing from later tonight, has repeatedly supported a physical barrier in the past, along with other Democrats,” Trump said.
The first immigration poll of 2019 indicates that a vast majority of Americans agree with Trump on securing the border and building a wall to combating illegal immigration and drugs from pouring into the country.
According to a new Economist/YouGov survey, 93 percent of Americans say illegal immigration is a problem.
While Democrats have refused to strike a deal to reopen the government and fund the border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, it appears an overwhelming majority agrees with Trump on the immediate need to secure the border.
Last month, House Republicans voted 217-185 to approve a measure that would keep the government open and allocate $5.7 billion for border wall funding.
The bill is now waiting a full vote in the Senate, where lawmakers are hashing it out over funding for border security.
Trump has also threatened to declare a national emergency and have the military build his wall.
