Temperatures plunged to record lows in Hades when one of President Trump’s most relentless antagonists stood up for him against House Democrats who are determined to get his tax returns.
Republican Senator Mitt Romney has gone against character with a shocking (for him at least) defense of Trump after vengeful Dems indicated that they are prepared to go to unprecedented lengths to obtain what is protected private information and are ready to unleash a volley of subpoenas to get it.
Last week, Democrats on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee sent a letter to acting IRS Commissioner David J. Kautter to strongarm the bureaucrat into providing the information to Congress where it will be mined for nuggets to be leaked to the media and serve as more fodder for the impeachment lynch mob.
Richard Neal plotted quietly for weeks to request Trump’s tax returns. Even Nancy Pelosi only got a 15-minute heads up.https://t.co/tMg0ObzMkO

The party has zero qualms about weaponizing the government against their political enemies as was made evident when former President Barack Obama sicced the IRS on conservative groups, especially those with ties to the Tea Party movement around the time of his reelection campaign.
While it must have galled Romney to take up for Trump, the former Massachusetts governor and failed presidential candidate who choked “like a dog” against Obama did so on Sunday morning’s edition of NBC’s flagship “Meet The Press” where he ripped the “moronic” move by the Democrats.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Sunday called Democrats “moronic” for attempting to obtain President Trump’s tax returns through legislative action.
Romney added, however, that he wishes Trump would publicly release his tax returns.
“[Trump] said he would be happy to release his returns. So I wish he’d do that. But I have to also tell you I think the Democrats are just playing along his handbook, which is, going after his tax returns through legislative action is moronic,” he said during an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“That’s not going to happen,” Romney continued. “The courts are not going to say that you can compel a person running for office to release their tax returns. He’s going to win this victory.”
The Mittster did, however, voice his desire for the president to voluntarily release his tax returns like he did when he was accused of not paying taxes for ten years by then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Like the election itself, that didn’t really work out well for Romney and Reid never stopped gloating about it.

Good for Romney even if the words burned like acid in his mouth because this authoritarianism has long passed the point of being damned anti-American as the Dems have become enamored with tactics that would have been commonplace in Joseph Stalin’s Soviet Union.
Now that they have been deprived of the great Russian collusion delusion, the Democrats are going back to 2016 with their conspiracy-mongering over Trump’s tax returns and intend to get them come hell or high water
All conservatives had better pay attention because they could be next once this fascist mob has been unleashed.
