GENIUS: Trump’s New Plan To Defeat Dem Subpoenas Is So Simple That Pelosi Won’t Know What Hit Her

President Donald Trump’s new plan t defeat subpoenas from Democrats is so simple that Rep. Nancy Pelosi and others won’t what hit them.

As noted by The Daily Caller, House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-GA) has subpoenaed Carl Kline, a former Trump administration official that had oversight over security clearances for the incoming Trump administration.

However, the White House plan to combat the subpoenas is very simple: don’t comply.

The Trump administration has advised Kline to ignore the subpoena, which required him to appear for an interview before the Oversight Committee.

Cummings is subpoenaing him after a report earlier this year from a whistleblower, Tricia Newbold, alleged that Kline reversed his decision on at least 24 individuals that he had initially denied a security clearance to.

Trump administration attorney Michael Purpura informed the committee that the subpoena could be a threat to confidential information.

Purpura said that it “unconstitutionally encroaches on fundamental executive branch interests.”

Kline, who currently works for the Department of Defense, said he will comply with the White House’s direction.

In an attempt to block Democrats from subpoenaing his financial records, Trump and his legal team filed a lawsuit against Cummings and chief investigative counsel Peter Kenny.

Here’s more from The Daily Caller on the topic:

The House Oversight Committee last week issued a subpoena to Mazars, an accounting firm that is in possession of at least several years of Trump’s financial information. The subpoena demands documentation related to a multitude of Trump holdings, including the Trump Organization, the Trump Corporation, the Trump Foundation and the Trump International Hotel.

Cummings indicated that the Oversight Committee is seeking the financial information in relation to Michael Cohen’s congressional testimony, in which the former Trump lawyer claimed the president routinely inflated his assets to benefit his business ventures.

Trump lawyers William Consovoy and Stefan Passantino said in a statement that the subpoena to “obtain years’ worth of confidential information from their accountants lacks any legitimate legislative purpose, is an abuse of power, and is just another example of overreach by the president’s political opponents.”

The lawsuit asks the court to render the subpoena invalid and to issue a permanent injunction against Cummings and Mazars.

We will not allow Congressional Presidential harassment to go unanswered,” Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow stated when talking about the lawsuit.

The Democrats have made it clear that they will abuse their power and investigate the President for any reason possible.

Now that the Mueller investigation is over, which proved that the Trump campaign did not collude with the Russian government, congressional Democrats are taking matters into their own hands and starting new investigations for no reason other than to impeach Trump.

Trump is right to call this “presidential harassment.”
