Democrats Create DESPERATION LEGISLATION To Lower The Federal Voting Age To 16

In a hearing on Tuesday, Democratic Lawmaker Ayanna Pressley introduced her intent to lower the federal voting age to sixteen. This proposal is her first amendment that has been brought to Congress and it would allow individuals who turn sixteen before the election in 2020 to vote. During the hearing, Ayanna said she believes that:

Those who will inherit the nation we design here in Congress by our policies and authority should have a say in who represents them.

I am honored & excited to be introducing my very 1st amendment on the House floor, an amendment to #HR1, the #ForthePeopleAct. My amendment will lower the voting age from 18 to 16, allowing our youth to have a seat at the table of democracy.#16toVote”

Essentially, the Democrats want to usher towards their most advantageous demographic to have any chance of winning the upcoming election, which is teenagers. The basis of her argument, revolves around the presumption where:

“young people are at the forefront of some of the most existential crises facing our communities and our society at large”

She says this, despite most states not allowing people under 17 to drive a car or pay taxes. The Government aside, sixteen-year-old brains aren’t even fully developed, particularly in areas that regulate things like maturity and decision making. Also, it is common knowledge that most teenagers will fall asleep at the word of “politics”, and no real world governmental experience is acquired until the age of eighteen, meaning this legislation would effectively be useless, and takeaway the integrity of our nations elections.
