Democrat Rashida Tlaib Gets BUSTED Violating Campaign Finance Laws Just Days After AOC

We will delve into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s potentially unethical ways in just a second.

First, can we talk about Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib? You remember her best for being caught on tape saying she’s going to “impeach” that “motherf*****” Trump.

Now, she’s got some bigger fish to fry.

From Daily Caller:

Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib reportedly paid herself $17,500 from her election campaign funds — after she won her midterm election in November 2018.

That appears to be a violation of campaign finance rules, the Washington Free Beacon reported Friday. In total, campaign records reveal that the congresswoman paid herself a salary of $45,000 before and after the election.

FEC rules state that campaign funds can no longer be transferred to a candidate once that person ceases to be a candidate.

“If the candidate loses the primary, withdraws from the race, or otherwise ceases to be a candidate, no salary payments may be paid beyond the date he or she is no longer a candidate,” the rules state.

Naughty, naughty, Rashida!

More on AOC, as promised, and her potentially illegal campaign cash contributions…

From Federalist Papers:

Yesterday, it was reported by multiple media outlets that AOC helped funnel $6,000 to her boyfriend during her campaign.

Today, we’ve learned those contributions were likely illegal.

And if not downright criminal, at the very least highly unethical.

AOC’s boyfriend has a government email address. Her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, said that Riley Roberts was not a member of AOC’s staff.

Her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti also argued the move was normal for a spouse or partner.

He wrote: ‘He’s not paid. We have no volunteers in the office. He’s not doing any government work. He can see her calendar just like spouses/partners/family members in other congressional office.

There’s a big problem, though, as Roberts is actually listed in Alexandria’s staff directory.

Chakrabarti was apparently given his position after funneling cash for Alexandria’s campaign through Roberts, AOC’s boyfriend.

That’s kind of a problem. In fact, it might be illegal.

If it’s not outright illegal, it definitely poses a major ethical dilemma.

“A rich guy used a PAC to pay @AOC’s boyfriend $6,000 when her campaign was running out of money. After AOC won, she gave that rich guy a job in her office. Follow me on a journey,” author Luke Thompson said.

Last week, @AOC and her Chief of Staff @saikatc (the rich guy in question) freaked out on me when I pointed out it looked like she’d hired her boyfriend. I did some digging in the FEC. Turns out Saikat has “hired” her boyfriend, before…just not to do any actual work,” he said.
